While The Lobster Inn has many fans, some may find it lacking in modern decor compared to trendier spots in town. The atmosphere can become lively, especially during busy times like Sunday afternoons when the pub reaches full capacity, which might not suit those seeking a quieter dining experience. A few visitors have noted the limited parking availability during peak times, although free parking options are abundant in the surrounding streets. Additionally, while many praise the food, some feel the menu could offer more options for health-conscious diners. That said, these minor drawbacks don’t overshadow the overall positive experience offered.
Didn't realise there was such a canny beer garden out the back - a proper suntrap and good spot for the kids to carefully play (there is a carpark). Not sure if dogs are allowed but would be a good spot to stop on a dog walk 🙂 we didn't have food but others around us did and it looked like proper pub grub! Will definitely be back! Staff were friendly, and service was good.
THE best Sunday dinners in redcar! The food itself is amazing I've never had a bad meal yet! If your a gravy fan that thinks the gravy makes the meal, you're in for a treat!

The Lobster or "The Lobby" has been in Redcar for several decades, in recent years by Ali and Ingrid, in what has been a transformation in standards and clientele at times too. While not the trendiest bar in town, it's ran by two amazing people who ensure the highest standards are met, and that the staff uphold the values of this establishment. Nice people, good food and service. Pool and Snooker for those who want to play too. Definitely worth a visit, and try the Parmo while you're there.
Visited The Lobster pub today for the first time today and we were really glad we did. The lady behind the bar was really friendly and welcoming. Excellent Sam Smith ales in a nice pub what more could you ask ......... Please Sam Smith brewery will you reopen at least one of your pubs in Darlington, so we don't have to travel across the North east to enjoy your ales 🙏😃
Sunday lunch booked for four was spot on. Good food served pleasantly and promptly. And the bill was fair. Like the atmosphere there and they work hard to run a very good traditional pub with food. Five stars.
